Senthil Kumar Ganapathi is a well experienced Gastrointestinal Surgeon who has achieved a high level of proficiency in Gastrointestinal Surgery and has a special interest in managing Colon and Rectal Cancers by Minimally Invasive techniques. He is an expert Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeon, He has a rich experience of 24+ years as a qualified surgeon.

He underwent basic surgical training at the prestigious Madras Medical college and higher surgical training in the United Kingdom. He was awarded with an MD(Research) for his research work and thesis on Immune genes in Colorectal Cancer from a prestigious University of London. He brings a rich blend of training in India and the United Kingdom and possessing a great combination of clinical, academic and research skills.

  • Dr. Senthil K Ganapathi has worked as Senior Consultant in Surgical Gastroenterology at a top hospital in Coimbatore for more than 8 years during which he has fine tuned his skills in Laparoscopic surgery and had started performing Robotic surgery for Colorectal cancer. He has performed more than 200 laparoscopic and Robotic colorectal cancer resections with excellent results. He understands the importance of Multidisciplinary Team approach in the management of cancers of Gastrointestinal tract.
  • He is also an expert in performing laparoscopic surgery for a wide variety of abdominal wall hernias, gall bladder stones, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Rectal prolapse and Gastrointestinal emergencies. He has also shown excellence in managing anorectal conditions such as Hemorrhoids, anal fissure and anal fistula having adopted the recent advancers in Laser Proctology.
  • Dr. Ganapathi has performed live laparoscopic and anorectal surgeries during conferences and teaching courses. He has also been an FNB examiner for the National Board of Examinations. Senthil K Ganapathi has been a regular faculty at various National conferences such as the ACRSICON and AMASICON. He has spoken on various topics including Laparoscopic anterior resection for rectal cancer and Laparoscopic Total Proctocolectomy.
  • Senthil K Ganapathi did his Higher Surgical Training in the United Kingdom with a special interest in colorectal surgery and successfully completed the Fellowship Exit Exam in 2014. He had performed extensive research in colorectal cancer at a top university in London and was instrumental in the completion of Randomised Controlled Trial of Artesunate therapy in Colorectal Cancer which was later published in the Lancet. He successfully submitted his thesis on Immune genes in colorectal cancer which was subsequently published in the prestigious British Journal of Cancer.
