HEAD UP TILT TABLE TEST
Procedure:
After about 15 minutes of lying flat, the table is quickly tilted to raise the body to a head-up position – simulating a change in position from lying down to standing up. The table will then remain upright for up to 45 minutes, while the heart rate and blood pressure are monitored.
Indications:
- To diagnose syncope: Patients with symptoms of dizziness or lightheadedness, with or without a loss of consciousness (fainting), suspected to be associated with a drop in blood pressure or positional tachycardia.
