Health advisory on the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19)

OVERVIEW

Since its outbreak in Wuhan, China, the Novel Coronavirus, now renamed Covid-19, has

caused lakhs of infected cases worldwide. Declared a ‘controllable’ pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the COVID-19 has killed over 7,000 people worldwide. As per WHO, currently, there is no vaccine or special anti-viral

treatment for Covid-19, but supportive care can help most patients recover. Precautionary measures include regular

hand-hygiene practices with alcohol-based rub or soap and water, abstaining from touching one’s face and social distancing.

COVID-19 in India

India has 126 Covid-19 cases (excluding the new cases in Karnataka), including three people who have died and 13 who’ve

been discharged, according to a tally published by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare this morning.
