Indore, 19th July, 2021: Apollo Hospitals, Indore has launched Central India’s first-of-a-kind dedicated Robot-Assisted Joint Replacement Surgery Unit, a milestone in the history of Joint Replacement surgery in this region. The unit will offer patients with complex joint ailments, treatment with robotic assisted minimally invasive joint replacement. The Robot-Assisted Joint Replacement Surgery Unit will be equipped with the advanced versatile Navio robotic surgical system and a dedicated team, led by Dr. Sunil Rajan, Senior Consultant, Department of Orthopaedics and Joint Replacement and Head of the Department, Robotic Joint Replacement Surgery Unit.

The Robotic system has an advanced computed program that relays precise information about the knee with 3D mapping. The technology results in less pain, lesser blood loss, precision in bone burring and better position and implant alignment. This inturn will ensure a near normal knee motion in both total, partial knee and hip replacement.
