Mr. Venkateshwarlu, a 60-year-old from Ongole, sharing his journey of undergoing bilateral total knee replacement surgery with Dr. Rathnakar Rao, a highly experienced orthopaedic surgeon at Apollo Hospital, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.
Dr. Rao explained that Mr. Venkateshwarlu had been experiencing knee pain for almost 10 to 15 years, which made it difficult for him to walk and carry out daily activities. He had been using temporary pain relievers and trying different medications to avoid surgery. After assessing his condition, Dr. Rao advised Mr. Venkateshwarlu to consider total knee replacement surgery, highlighting the risks associated with the long-term use of painkillers. Mr. Venkateshwarlu followed the advice and had a successful surgery. He started walking just two days after the operation.
One month post-surgery, Mr. Venkateshwarlu is making excellent progress in his recovery and can now walk without experiencing pain. He expresses his appreciation to Dr. Rao for encouraging him to undergo the surgery and for his unwavering support during his recovery journey.
