A Child from Assam was diagnosed with Rare Nystagmus – Eye Disorder | Successfully Treated

Baby Syed Madiyan Mahir from Sivasagar, Assam, accompanied by his father Mr Syed Mofijuddin was suffering from an eye disorder. In April 2022, they visited LV Prasad Hospital, Hyderabad where they were advised to follow-up with Dr Vijay Anand Reddy, a renowned radiation oncologist at Apollo Cancer Institute, Hyderabad.

He booked an appointment with Dr Reddy and after some laboratory tests performed under guidance of Dr Reddy, the baby Syed was diagnosed with nystagmus. It is a visual condition characterized by involuntary and repetitive movements of the eyes. The child was advised to undergo 12 cycles of chemotherapy, with each cycle scheduled monthly. After successful completion of chemotherapy, he underwent 19 cycles of radiation therapy.

Baby Syed is doing great with his ongoing recovery. His father expresses sincere gratitude to Dr Reddy and Apollo Hospital for providing his son with a fresh start in life.
