Dr. Lokireddy, Mr. Sharma was admitted for treatment. Initially, he underwent a month-long course of standard chemotherapy known as Daunorubicin. However, despite these efforts, he did not achieve a cure. Subsequently, the recommendation was made for an allogeneic stem cell transplant. Mr Sharma underwent chemotherapy treatment with support of flag intensive chemotherapy.
The patient has achieved complete recovery now, it has been three months since the transplant. His father had served as the half donor considering the emergency situation during the procedure. Now at this point, a suitable full donor was found, and Mr. Sharma’s bone marrow continues to remain in remission, showing no signs of minimal residual disease.
Mr.Sharma says, as a foreigner, the team was not biased and the entire team supported him throughout chemotherapy, they gave patients their valuable time even for small problems. He is thankful to Dr. Lokireddy, Dr. Sandip and Apollo team for the care throughout the treatment journey. He is totally fine now and would recommend Apollo Hospitals for the chemotherapy needs.
