PRESS RELEASE

Dt: 01-04-2020

There is information being circulated on WhatsApp and other social media that 150 patients have been admitted in Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills from two areas in the City with COVID-19 infection. This is false and a clear instance of trouble mongering. Apollo Hospitals strongly condemns the circulation of fake news with mala fide intentions. We have lodged complaints with the appropriate authorities and hope that the culprits will be booked.

Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills is functioning normally and over 200 Non-COVID patients are being treated at the hospital currently. We are committed to the safety of these patients and our staff and have instituted stringent measures to prevent cross-infections. We would like to reiterate the fact that the hospital is functioning normally and people can continue to utilise its services unhindered.

In this hour of crisis, we are committed to support the Government in its efforts to contain and manage COVID-19 patients. A COVID-19 unit with 50 beds has been created away from the hospital and patients COVID-19 suspected/confirmed patients are being treated at this facility. This ensures complete separation of COVID and Non-COVID patients and prevents cross-infection. In addition, we have created isolation facilities with our hotel partners and those stable patients needing isolation are housed in these facilities.

We strongly condemn rumour-mongering and remain committed to our patients and our community.
