    LASIK / CLEAR / PRK

This procedure is designed to correct common vision problems such as nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hypermetropia), and astigmatism. This innovative surgical technique has revolutionised the field of ophthalmology, offering patients a safe, effective, and relatively painless solution to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses.

    How LASIK/ CLEAR/ PRK Works:

LASIK / CLEAR / PRK work by reshaping the cornea, the clear front part of the eye, to improve the way light rays are focused onto the retina at the back of the eye. During the procedure, the surgeon creates a thin flap in the outer layer of the cornea using a microkeratome or a femtosecond laser. The flap is then lifted, and an excimer laser is used to precisely reshape the underlying corneal tissue according to the patient’s unique prescription. Once the cornea is reshaped to the desired curvature, the flap is repositioned, where it adheres naturally without the need for stitches.

In CLEAR, no flap is created; the femtosecond laser is used to remove a piece (lenticule) of tissue from within the cornea to alter its shape for refractive correction. In PRK, the laser procedure is directly performed on the surface of the cornea to alter its shape.
