    FAQ's

You should see a urologist if you exhibit symptoms such as trouble urinating, changes in the frequency of urination, infertility, trouble getting an erection, pelvic pain, a feeling of heaviness or something falling from your vagina, or uncontrolled urination, especially at night or when you laugh or sneeze.

The urologist will discuss your symptoms, medical history, comorbidities, lifestyle, and other factors. Physical examinations, such as rectal exams for men and pelvic exams for females, will be done. To obtain a precise diagnosis, you will also be recommended to undergo screening or diagnostic procedures, such as urinalysis or ultrasound. Treatment plans are then informed based on your results.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are caused by bacteria that enter the urinary tract from the gastrointestinal tract or the anus. Although the urinary system is designed to keep out bacteria, the defence mechanism may fail. This leads to infection. UTIs are mostly seen in females because of their anatomy, i.e., the urethra is close to the anus. UTIs can also occur due to catheter use, weakened immune systems, while performing sexual acts, or when you go to the bathroom.

Treatments for erectile dysfunction are based on the underlying cause. These include lifestyle changes, counselling for stress or anxiety, and medications taken either orally, in injectables, or suppositories. A vacuum device may be recommended that pulls the blood into the penis when inserted. However, it may cause some irritation. Surgery is often considered a last resort. This may include repairing your arteries to reverse erectile dysfunction or inserting implants.

The failure rate of the vasectomy procedure is very low. In very rare cases, the sperm cross the separated ends of the vas deferens and cause pregnancy. Vasectomy is 99.99% effective and can be considered a suitable birth control procedure. After the surgery, semen samples are checked routinely to confirm the success of the procedure. In cases where samples contain sperm, you may have to undergo another vasectomy.
