    Dr Vijay Kumar Chennamchetty is a Senior Interventional and Clinical Pulmonologist at Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. He’s currently the Director of Interventional Pulmonology Services. His uniqueness is he has additional sub specialisation in the fields of Critical care and Sleep medicine. He’s one of the first Pulmonologist in the country to get certification in the field of Sleep Medicine through ISDA (Indian Sleep Disorders Association) in the year 2011.

    He’s an exceptionally talented dynamic interventional pulmonologist. He’s the first to start Complete EBUS program (Linear and Radial together) in the city of Hyderabad and thus in the state of Telangana. His Thoracoscopy kills are excellent and he’s known for his advanced multi portal Thoracoscopic interventions for various pleural diseases like Recurrent pneumothorax, multi loculated Empyema and Lung biopsy. He’s often called as Pulmonary surgeon by his various colleagues. He’s one of the few in the world who have mastered LASER application in the airway. His other interests are EBUS, Cryo lung biopsy, Airway stenting , Flexible and Rigid Bronchoscopy.

    With most of the chronic lung ailments, patients have to use medications and other interventions for life long. Dr Vijay is known for his empathetic approach towards them and addresses patients and their family needs with his unique style of detailed listening and rendering his services tailored to the individual clients. Pulmonary Rehabilitation is his one special interest where in he works in association with Apollo Life team to deliver state of art rehabilitation services.
