Do Quinine water and zinc help in preventing COVID 19?

There have been widespread reports that zinc and quinine found in Tonic water can prevent or treat COVID19.
It is a fact that both hydroxychloroquine and quinine are being studied for efficacy in COVID-19. However tonic water, containing a non-therapeutic minimal quantity of quinine will have no effect on COVID -19.
Zinc is needed for the maintenance of the immune cells system. Zinc deficiency results in dysfunction of both humoral and cell‐mediated immunity. However, we don’t know the specific effect of zinc on COVID-19 and it is not advisable to overdose on any supplement or take it without doctor’s advice.
