      Do Probiotics help in COVID 19?

      Probiotics have not been found to have any direct effect on severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection; most patients with COVID-19 present with respiratory symptoms. There have been some reports on 2 randomized controlled trials where critically ill patients on mechanical ventilation who were given certain probiotics developed substantially less ventilator-associated pneumonia compared with placebo.  However, there is no conclusive evidence on the effect of probiotics in COVID -19 infection.
