Fruits cannot be infected by the virus . They may harbour the virus for a few hours if someone infected has coughed or sneezed on the fruit . Therefore you should rinse fruits with running water before eating them, which will help remove 90-99 per cent of any contamination. Even fruits like banana or orange with a peel must be washed before consuming them.
