Can amlodipine and remdesivir help in Corona virus infection ?

Remdesivir was previously tested as an Ebola virus treatment. It has generated promising results in animal studies for Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), which are also caused by coronaviruses, suggesting it may have some effect in patients with COVID-19. Retrospective clinical investigation of COVID-19 patients in a study has revealed that the amlodipine administration distinctly reduced the case fatality rate of patients with hypertension. Results from this study suggest that Calcium channel blocker administration for COVID-19 patients with hypertension might improve the disease outcome.
