Dr. Prashant Baid is a Spine Surgeon with an orthopaedic background. He has passed his MS Ortho in April 2008 and was awarded Gold medal for the same . In his over 10 years of post- Orthopaedic residency , he has gained extensive clinical and research experience in field of spinal surgery covering all aspects, as a result of his training and affiliation with several renowned centres of Spinal surgery in India, Singapore , South America, UK and Korea
Currently he is a Consultant minimally invasive Spine and Deformity surgeon at Apollo Gleneagles hospital , Kolkata India. Prior to this he was a senior spine fellow at the Centre for Spinal Surgery and Studies, Queens Medical Center (QMC), Nottingham, UK, which is one of the largest and well renowned Teaching Hospital Center for spinal surgery in UK and Europe. He was an essential part of the Surgical team at the Nottingham University for delivering the Spinal services to the entire East Midlands and for patients who are referred from all across the UK.
Prior to this he was trained extensively in minimally invasive spine survey for 2 years at Singapore General Hospital, Singapore and Korea He is among one of the few trained trained in minimally invasive spine surgery in the country and probably the only one in the entire eastern region .
Dr Baid has a number of international and national publications, on various aspects of spine care, in reputed peer reviewed journals. He strives for evidence based approach in management of spinal disorders. His main interest is minimally invasive spinal fusion (MIS TLIF ) / decompression (MED), Endoscopic discectomy and decompression, vertebral augmentation, MIS tumour / trauma / infection, complex cervical spine fusion / disc replacement / C!-C2 fusion . complex deformity cases( paediatric & Adult deformity( scoliosis and kyphosis correction).Besides these, Dr Baid has keen interest in Injection therapy for back/leg pain
