  • Part-time Consultant Psychologist, Apollo Children’s Hospital, Chennai (since June 2010 - ongoing)
    • Working with children and families to deal with various psychosomatic complaints, fears and anxieties such as phobias, school refusal.
    • Part of the weight management program assist children identify and work on reducing emotional eating and increasing compliance with treatment plan.
    • Working with the PICU team to support families after and during trauma.
    • Also support staff with counseling as needed when referred by their supervisors.

 

  • Part-time Consultant Psychologist, Apollo Hospital, Chennai  Liver Transplant Team (June 2015 – ongoing)
    • Evaluation of recipients prior to transplant utilizing SIPAT and other tools as required.
    • Living Donor Evaluation as per requirements.
    • Work with patients and families to support them pre and post transplant to ensure treatment compliance. To deal with anxieties, stress, etc., as related to the adjustment to the diagnosis, subsequent surgery and adjustment post transplant.

A Non-Profit agency, South Pasadena, CA January 2002 – August 2008

  • The program was entitled “Therapeutic Behavioral Services” and provided Behavior Modification Support and Training to children and caregivers of children from the 3 to 21 years to assist them reduce the risk of Psychiatric Hospitalization or to assist clients return to living in the community.
  • As the Director of the Program responsible for a Department with over 75 staff and developing and implementing budget plans to ensure we meet a budget of 5.6 million dollars. We had the largest program of its kind in Los Angeles with strong clinical oversight and we ensured that overall client expense was the lowest in the county.

 

 

 

 

  • In addition we developed two smaller programs to work with clients in Non-Public schools with DMH approved Psychiatric Diagnosis.
  • Ensured that our program and staff adhered to state guidelines and also met JACHO standards. Our agency is one of two agencies in Los Angeles that is JACHO accredited.
  • Worked closely with our HR Department to recruit, trained and hire staff to meet the various needs of the Department. Developed and provided ongoing trainings Department wide as the need arose.

  • Identify children’s needs/goals and develop appropriate treatment plans.
