After a year long stint in the UK, he then focused his training in the area of his special interest, Craniofacial Surgery. He completed the ‘Fellowship in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery’ after working as a Craniofacial Fellow for a year and half from the world renowned ‘Australian Craniofacial Unit’, Adelaide, Australia. The Australian Craniofacial Unit is one of the only two standalone Craniofacial units in the world. Here, Dr Deraje was extensively trained in the management of Craniosynostosis, Cleft lip and palate, Vascular anomalies, Head and neck tumours, Facial fractures and Orthognathic surgery.Since his return from Adelaide in 2019, he has been practicing as a Consultant Craniofacial & Plastic surgeon at Sakra World hospital, Bangalore and also consulting at Skin and hair sciences, Bangalore. He also serves as an Editor to an online journal magazine called ‘Plasticos’.
