After doing MD Pediatrics from King George Medical College joined as faculty in the Department of Pediatrics in the same institution in October 1984 and continued working in the same Department till my retirement as Professor Pediatrics and Incharge pediatric Hematology Oncology on 25th April 2018. I have nurtured the speciality of Pediatric Hematolohy Oncology for last 25 years and due to my efforts a separate Department of Pediatric Oncology was created in 2015 with a 50 bedded ward exclusively for Pediatric Oncology. Trained in Pediatric Hematology Oncology under the International Medical Scholars programme of ECFMG at UW Childrens Hospital, Wisconsin and Childrens Hospital UCLA, California, USA in 1997/98.
Published over 70 papers in national and international indexed journals and presented more than 60 research papers in National as well as International Pediatric Hematology Oncology Conferences, many of which were awarded.
Was among the founding members of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Chapter of IAP, participated in its Oncology as well as Hematology Training Programmes as Faculty and was awarded the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Oration at its annual conference in 2015
Guided over 30 MD theses as chief/co-guide, many in the subject of Pediatric Hematology Oncology. Was guide for 2 PhD candidates one of whose work was adjudged the best in the award session of International Pediatric Oncology conference (SIOP) and he is currently appointed as faculty in Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai.
