Dr S N Karthik qualified from Stanley Medical College in 2000 and subsequently did his MD in General Medicine from Madras Medical College in 2004. His neurological training got completed with his Doctorate of Medicine in Neurology from Madras Medical College in 2010.
Dr. S N Karthik particularly concentrates on the evaluation and treatment of seizures and epilepsy. He has a particular interest in treating medically-resistant epilepsy, evaluating unexplained seizure-like episodes, treating seizures associated with tumor. He also evaluates patients who have failed standard medical therapies for possible treatment with epilepsy surgery, investigational medications or vagal nerve stimulation. In particular, on treating children with epilepsy with an emphasis on those who continue to have seizures after trying multiple medications. He oversees the evaluation and management of children with difficult to control or difficult to diagnose epilepsy and evaluates and manages patients who may be candidates for epilepsy surgery.
