    Dr SL Broor is  one of the most eminent physicians  and a very renowned teacher in 
     
    the country.He has a vast clinical and teaching experience of more than 45 
     
    yrs.Having worked at premier centres ,he has extensive experience in  the  treatment 
     
    of  various diseases of Liver,Gastrointestinal system,Pancreas and Gallbladder.
     
     Besides PGI Chandigarh,he  received training in Advanced Endoscopic
     
     Procedures IN USA and Japan and  has been carrying out various
     
     Diagnostic and  Tharaupetic endoscopic procedures over  several decades. He has
     
     also been training  DM and DNB residents in endoscopic procedures for last many
     
     years . 
     
    Before joining Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals ,he worked for several years as a 
     
    faculty member at the  prestigious PostGraduate  Institute of Medical Education &
     
     Research  (PGI), Chandigarh. Subsequently ,he moved from PGI
     
     Chandigarh  to join as Prof & Head ,Deptt of Gastroenterology at G B Pant
     
     Hospital, New Delhi . Under his dynamic leadership ,the Gastroenterology Deptt at
     
     GB pant Hospital soon became a leading centre for patient care and
     
     teaching.He joined as a Senior Consultant at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital  in 1997.
     
     The Deptt of Gastroenterology at Apollo Hospital is extremely well equipped and 
     
    provides state of art care to patients  not only from India but from several  foreign
     countries .Besides providing excellent patient care ,the Deptt also runs a very active
    DNB training  programme for the last several years.

    Has worked in areas of Gastric acid secretion,Peptic ulcer and Small Bowel Physiology .Dr Broor’s work on the Endoscopic Dilatation for Corrosive Esophageal Strictures in adults and children has been cited in text books and he is considered as one of the pioneers in this field nationaly and internationaly. Infact, endoscopic dilatation is now practised as the  first line of treatment for most patients with corrosive esophageal structurs all over the world.He has published several papers in Journals of national and international repute.
