He has almost 20 years’ experience after obtaining his post-graduation. He has 10 years’ experience as a consultant in the department of diabetes and endocrinology.
· Dr Subir Ray graduated from R G Kar Medical College,Kolkata,India and did post graduation (MD in Gen.Medicine) from University College of Medicine, Kolkata.
· After passing MRCP(UK) exam he received sub-speciality training as a specialist registrar in Northern Deanery, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK and obtained specialist certificate in Diabetes & Endocrinology.
· In 2012 he was conferred fellowship of the Royal College of physicians (Edinburgh).
· He joined the department of Diabetes and Endocrinology of Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata , India in 2007.He has working experience of 10 years a consultant and currently he is working there as a senior consultant .
· Apart from diabetes his main area of interests are thyroid, pituitary, adrenal disorders, vitamin D deficiency, bone health and obesity.
He is currently the honorary joint secretary of executive council member of Integrated Diabetes & Endocrine Academy, Kolkata
He is a member of the association of clinical endocrinologist(USA)
He is a life member of Endocrine Society of India.
He is a keen academician and researcher. He has been involved as a principle investigator in multiple clinical trials. He has delivered more than 100 lectures in as many CMEs both in India and abroad .He has chaired many academic sessions in CMEs held in India and abroad.He has multiple national and international publications. He has written more than 50 articles in leading newspapers and journals. He has written multiple book chapters and he is an active contributing author of Diapedia,the online textbook of diabetes.
