Call NowDr. Karuppiah SKP is a Senior Consultant Cardiology with sub-specialization in Interventional Cardiology. His area of expertise includes percutaneous coronary intervention (coronary stents), carrying out both stable and emergency coronary angioplasty via the radial (wrist) approach.
In 1985 and in 1992, he earned his MBBS and MD in Internal Medicine from Government Stanley Medical College Chennai. After his foundation training, he did his MRCP in 1996 and went on to complete specialist training in cardiology (CCST, UK) with fellowship in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology from Trinity College, University of Dublin, Ireland in 2003(M.SC – in Interventional cardiology). He has also completed post graduate one-year program in Diabetology from John hapkin’ s University, USA.
Dr. Karuppiah possesses clinical expertise in all aspects of cardiology, including treating patients with chest pain, angina, breathlessness on exertion, palpitations or collapse. He has expertise in assessing and treating patients at increased risk of heart disease such as patients with high blood pressure, diabetes or raised cholesterol
Dr Karuppiah is focused on developing new diagnostic tools to improve the reliability and safety of percutaneous coronary interventions as well as optimizing patient experience during the procedure. He has performed ground-breaking research into invasive technologies that have changed the field and led to better treatment of patients around the world.
He remains active in research and the development of training program for physicians and Interventional Cardiologist.
