Dr Karthik gained his primary medical qualifications at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in 2008. He extended his training to ensure dual accreditation in both General Surgery and Cardiothoracic surgery from Vinayaka Mission University, Salem and Sri Chitra Thirunal Institute of Medical sciences, Trivandrum in 2014 and 2018 respectively.
Dr. Karthik has a special interest in Minimal Access Cardiac Surgery(MICS) and got trained at Ramakrishna Hospital in Coimbatore and has performed more than 200MICS procedures with excellent results and high levels of patient satisfaction. He continues to sharpen his skills in terms of cutting edge techniques and advanced technology (ECMO, LVAD, Transplant)
His interest in cardiac surgeries is not only limited to Adult cardiac surgery but also includes congenital cardiac surgery and to mention a few on ASD, VAD, PDA correction, Intra cardiac repair for TOF, surgeries for single ventricle physiology, TAPVC Repair, AV canal defect correction and Arterial switch.
