What are the Different Types of Skin Diseases?

The Skin is the largest organ of your body. There are various skin conditions that affect humans but many of the common skin conditions exhibit similar symptoms. However, it is important to understand the differences between them.
Consult with Best Dermatologist will diagnose and treat your skin condition so that your lifestyle may not get disturbed. Listed below are some of the common skin conditions.

Acne

Acne is one of the most common skin diseases which affects the oil glands present in your skin. Your skin includes tiny pores that link with oil glands through canals called follicles beneath your skin. Your skin’s oil glands form a substance called sebum.  Blockage of these follicles leads to acne. 80 percent of people will have acne at one or the other point. However, treatment is the best way to avoid scars.

Eczema

Eczema or atopic dermatitis is a long-standing skin disease with varied symptoms. There is no single test to diagnose eczema. The doctors may consider your family history to diagnose this condition. The symptoms exhibited during Eczema include
 Dry and itchy skin
 Rashes on the face
 Inside the elbows
Behind the knees, hands, and feet

Hives

You may experience red and itchy bumps on your skin which occurs when you are allergic to a drug or food and persons with other allergies are more likely to get hives than that of normal people. Infections and stress are considered as the supplementary causes to hives.

Impetigo

Impetigo is a common skin infection found among children aged  2 and 6. It is usually caused by a bacterium that enters the body during a cut, scratch or insect bite. It starts with red or pimple-like sores that come up on the face, arms and legs,  surrounded by red skin. These pimple-like sores are filled with pus which gets broken open resulting in a thick crust. However, you can treat impetigo with antibiotics.

Candidiasis

Candidiasis is the overgrowth of the Candida albicans fungus on the body that causes irritated patches of skin in the armpits, groin, or under folds of skin such, as the knee. This can be prevented with home remedies, proper hygiene and by avoiding the overuse of antibiotics.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a common skin disease that causes flaky red patches of skin covered in silvery scales. These patches can be itchy or sore and usually appear on the elbows, knees and the lower back. Psoriasis is just a minor irritation in some cases. But for many others, it can have an effect on quality of life. There is no cure for Psoriasis but your health care provider may recommend some creams and ointments, medication taken by mouth or injection so as to improve your symptoms.

Ringworm

Ringworm is a contagious fungal infection which can be seen anywhere on the body. Silver or red colored rough ring-like patch can be seen on the arms and legs during this condition. Ringworm occurs frequently in children.

Scabies

Scabies is a contagious skin condition that causes intense itching that gets worse at night and a rash of tiny red spots. This is usually caused by tiny mites that burrow into the skin.

Wrinkles

As you age, your face changes. The changes may include wrinkles, age spots, and dryness. Sunlight is a major reason for the aging of your skin. Cigarette smoking is considered to be a major contributor to your wrinkles. However, numerous treatment options exist to mollify the dry skin and also to reduce the appearance of your age spots.

Rosacea

Rosacea is a long-term disease that makes the skin thicker. It results in reddened skin and pimples on the face. It also causes severe eye problems.

Lichen Sclerosus

Lichen sclerosis causes white spots or patches on the skin of the genital and anal areas. The common symptoms of Lichen sclerosis include itchiness, pain, and bleeding.
If you face any skin disorder, do see a dermatologist. Any skin disease must be properly diagnosed because the treatment succeeds only when it is correctly diagnosed and dealt with.
