    International Yoga Day celebrated at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai

    Apollo Hospital, Greams road, Chennai witnessed a large number of men and women performing asanas and mudras as the Hospital celebrated the International Yoga Day with the members on 21st June, 2016. The participants benefitted from the yoga session under the able guidance of Ms. Maria & Mr. Thomas from Sivananda School of Yoga. A similar session was also conducted at the Apollo Hospitals, Vanagaram which also saw many of our members actively participating from the session. Yoga is India’s gift to the world and an invaluable bequest of India’s ancient tradition which is 5000 years old. We are really proud to celebrate this day at Apollo Hospitals and it is a wonderful initiative in line with our theme of “Life is Priceless”.

    The session that began at 6:00am and continued till 8.30am witnessed participants of diverse age group from 18 to 60 years. The members were enthusiastic, interactive and enjoyed the session which was followed by healthy snacks and refreshments served.

    International Day of Yoga, or commonly referred to as Yoga Day, is celebrated annually on June 21st since its inception in 2015. A celebrated day for yoga was declared by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on December 11, 2014 across the world. Yoga is a physical, intellectual, and spiritual practice associated to India.
