General information

The test contents in the medical examination packages are as per the advice of the US consulate Mumbai only. If required additional tests have to be done as per their protocol.

Appointment Details

Applicants are requested to make mandatory prior appointments for the medical examination to our call centre through the following telephone number: 044-4040 1066 – Monday to Saturday – between 7 am to 7 pm.

Online Appointments Not Available.

Applicants who are unable to keep up their appointment are requested to cancel at least one day prior to the appointment day.

Documents / Records to be brought on the day of medical examination

• The original valid passport
• The original valid interview letter with case number in it
• 6 US size photographs
• 1 Passport biodata page photo copy
• 1 Photocopy of the interview letter.

Additional information

• Please bring the photo copy of old medical reports / medicines / prescription / Vaccination records (if any) / Glasses (If worn).
• Pregnant applicants have the option to undergo chest x ray with protective gear (double lead shield covering of the abdomen) or can defer medical exam until post delivery. Applicant has to check with their gynaecologist before coming for the medicals regarding the above.
• Food – no restrictions.

US Medical Package Contents

• 0 to 2: Physical examination+age appropriate vaccination if needed
• 2 to 14: Physical examination+Tuberculin skin test( Mantoux) and age appropriate vaccination
• Above 15: Physical examination + X ray chest, urine – NAAT test – for gonorrhoea, blood test for RPR and age appropriate vaccination

Payment Details

• All fees must be borne by the applicant and can be paid in cash / Credit card.
• The cost of the TB related investigations and complete treatment is included in the initial payment.
• Cost of the vaccines are additional.

Duration of the Medical Check up and reports despatch

The duration of the medical examination: 3 to 4 hours on the 1st day. The reports if normal will be handed over to the applicants above 15 on the next working day between 4 to 5 pm.

For 2 to 14 yrs of age the reports will be handed over on the third working day because of the Tuberculin skin test which will be read after 48 hours.

If the reports are abnormal additional tests will be required which will delay the duration of stay. Abnormal reports will be sent to the Mumbai consulate once cleared by the panel physician.
