    Treatments

Nephrology is a medical specialty that covers diagnosis, treatment and management of disorders of the kidney. Kidney stones and kidney failure are some of the common illnesses treated. Kidney diseases associated with other illnesses and conditions, such as hypertension and diabetes are also managed.

    Renal Transplant

We run a well known and complete renal transplant program, and perform both autologous and cadaveric transplants. We also have one of the earliest and largest organ transplant registries in India. Minimally Invasive surgery is used for kidney donors thus minimising post-operative recovery and hospital stay.

Procedures related to kidney transplantation include:

    • Cadaveric renal transplantation
    • Cadaver-donor kidney transplantation
    • Living donor kidney transplants (from both related and unrelated donors)
    • Laparoscopic donor Nephrectomy

    Dialysis

Dialysis is a procedure to remove wastes and impurities from the blood in the event of a malfunctioning kidney. The kidneys may not function properly in conditions like kidney failure, severe diabetes, congenital kidney disease, hypertension etc. Patients who undergoes dialysis can lead a normal life and even travel, as long as dialysis is possible at the place they are visiting.
