    Head Up Tilt Table Test

    Procedure:

    After about 15 minutes of lying flat, the table is quickly tilted to raise the body to a head-up position – simulating a change in position from lying down to standing up. The table will then remain upright for up to 45 minutes, while the heart rate and blood pressure are monitored.

    Major Indications:

    • To diagnose syncope: Patients with symptoms of dizziness or lightheadedness, with or without a loss of consciousness (fainting), suspected to be associated with a drop in blood pressure or positional tachycardia.
