This CME commenced with the welcome address delivered by Dr. Rohini Sridhar, Chief Operating Officer, Apollo Hospitals, Madurai Region. She threw light on various treatments done at Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Trichy and stressed that the hospital provides the best of service and care under one roof.
The first lecture of the CME was delivered by Dr. K.G. Srinivasan, Consultant Radiologist from Madurai, who spoke on “Applied Radiology in HIP & KNEE Trauma – Simplified”. Dr. Arun Geethayan, Consultant Trauma and Joint Replacement Surgeon from Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Trichy spoke on “Why is 1st hour trauma care so important”. Dr. K. Balasubramanian, Consultant Trauma and Joint Replacement Surgeon from Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Trichy addressed the gathering on “How to deal with Joint Injuries in Primary care setting”. Dr. Kader Sahib Consultant Intervention Cardiologist, Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Trichy spoke on “Trauma & Heart”. Dr. Samson Daniel, Senior Consultant Trauma and Joint Replacement Surgeon from Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Trichy enlightened the audience on “How Trauma Care in Trichy has evolved over the years”. Dr. S. Ramesh Babu President, Tamil Nadu Orthopaedic Association was the final speaker and he spoke on “Polytrauma Management: Damage Control Orthopaedics versus Early total care”.
Following the academic session, Chief Guest, Mr. Nallusamy Annavi, International High jumper & National Coach – Indian Railways, Trichy, Dr. Rohini Sridhar COO, Apollo Hospitals, Madurai Region, Dr. S. Ramesh Babu President TNOA, Chennai and Dr. R. Shanthi ADMS & Hospital Administrator, Trichy, inaugurated the Apollo Joint Injuries Clinic.
Dr. K. Balasubramanian and Dr. Arun Geethayan Consultant Trauma & Joint replacement Surgeons Apollo Hospitals, Trichy shared the concept of Apollo Joint Injuries Clinic and the rise of Trauma and joint injuries, how these injuries are often missed, the occurrence of joint injuries in sports activities and how its early recognition of joint injuries and proper treatment can prevent setting of arthritis in the joint.
Mr. Nallusamy Annavi Palanisamy International High jumper & National Coach – Indian Railways, Trichy in his address emphasized the importance of Apollo Joint Injuries Clinic and how useful it would be for both the public and sports personalities.
