In a concerted effort to promote women’s health and raise awareness about breast cancer, Apollo Proton Cancer Centre (APCC) is proud to announce the launch of the Screen to Win, an exclusive breast cancer screening program, in association with the Department of Health and Family Welfare Services, Puducherry, and the Rotary Club of Pondicherry Pride. This initiative aims to provide accessible breast cancer screenings to the general public and empower women with the knowledge and resources for early detection and prevention.
The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. (Smt.) Tamilisai Soundarajan, Hon’ble Governor of Telangana & Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Puducherry, in the presence of Dr. Manjula Rao, Consultant-Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, APCC, and Dr. G. Sreenivasan, Medical Chairman, Rotary Club of Pondicherry.
Dr. (Smt.) Tamilisai Soundarajan, Hon’ble Governor of Telangana & Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Puducherry, commented on this significant effort, saying, “I am thrilled to be part of the launch of APCC’s Screen to Win program. Breast cancer is a serious health issue, and effective treatment depends on early detection. I applaud APCC, the Rotary Club of Pondicherry Pride, and the Department of Health & Family Welfare Services for working together to make breast cancer screening available to the public. This program highlights the significance of preventative healthcare and is consistent with our shared goal of ensuring the welfare of our people in Puducherry.”
A screening camp is scheduled to take place at the Primary Health Centre in Muthialpet, Puducherry. The screening services will be provided within the Apollo Mobile Health Bus, which is equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities including Digital Mammogram, X-ray, Ultrasound (breast and whole abdomen), ECG, Echo, as well as basic comprehensive tests like BMI, RBS, and BP measurements. This initiative aims to offer vital healthcare services to all participants and will be administered by a dedicated medical team comprised of doctors, paramedic staff, and nurses.

The Medical Chairman of the Rotary Club of Pondicherry, Dr. G. Sreenivasan, stated, “Together with APCC, we are not just screening for breast cancer; we are screening for hope, resilience, and a brighter tomorrow. Our partnership exemplifies the transformative power of community and collaboration, driving change one screening at a time.”
During the three-day camp, APCC expects 500 women to receive general screenings, while 150 women can avail themselves of comprehensive breast screenings. Additionally, attendees will receive clinical guidance on leading a healthy life, emphasizing the importance of early detection and regular check-ups.
The Apollo Mobile Health Bus provided screenings for 17,500 women in Tamil Nadu during the first and second editions of the Screen to Win program, and it played a significant role in promoting the importance of early identification in the management of breast cancer.
