    Apollo Hospitals, Chennai launches Advanced Centre for GI Bleed ailments.

    In an effort to cater to those with GI-related ailments and scale greater heights in medical excellence, Apollo Hospitals has launched an Advanced Centre for Gastro-Intestinal Bleed on the occasion of its 40th anniversary. The Centre will offer treatment in line with international guidelines, with a view to improve outcomes for patients affected by GI-related conditions.

    The Centre will be driven by a team of skilled experts and equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure to offer speedy diagnosis and high-quality treatment for disorders of the digestive tract. This Centre will thus treat a range of ailments relating to the oesophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, pancreas, liver, gallbladder and biliary system.

    GI bleed is a symptom of various ailments such as reflux, ulcers and cancer. The death rate for GI Bleed stands at around 10% – research has shown that having a dedicated Centre for GI Bleed can reduce this by more than 50%.
