Apollo Hospitals, Chennai conducted a medical camp at Korukkupet in Chennai on Tuesday to help residents affected by heavy rain and water logging.
It was held at the councillor’s office from 9am and the camp saw close to 2,000 patients.
A team of 20 doctors comprising of gastroenterologists, general physicians, gynaecologists, paediatricians, ENT specialists, orthopaedicians and pulmonologists along with 20 nurses and other paramedical staff was stationed at the camp.
The camp was held to treat water borne diseases, respiratory ailments and transfer patients in need of immediate medical care to nearest hospitals. Basic antibiotics, anti-allergic medicines, anti-fungal ointments, eye drops, ear drops, cough syrup and supplements like vitamins were also distributed free of cost.
Diagnostic procedures like basic checking of height, weight, blood pressure and testing of blood sugar levels were also performed.
