    The patient had previously undergone a heart procedure in 2021 in Tirunelveli. Despite initial success, she developed severe symptoms, including difficulty breathing and leg swelling, due to issues with two of her heart valves. These complications made managing her heart failure profusely challenging.

    Upon her admission to Apollo Hospitals, doctors found that her heart was not pumping effectively and that both her mitral and tricuspid valves were leaking. Despite receiving medications and supportive care, her condition did not improve, prompting the medical team to consider a more advanced treatment option.

This makes it particularly beneficial for patients considered too high-risk for conventional surgery. For this patient, TEER not only treated her condition but also allowed her to regain her quality of life.

    The simultaneous repair of both mitral and tricuspid valves using TEER is exceptionally rare and was a first in India.
