The Institute of Colorectal Surgery at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai is one of the busiest colorectal units in the country. More than 1200 colorectal procedures are done every year with major focus on management of colorectal diseases.
The Institute of Colorectal Surgery at Apollo Hospitals Chennai is collaborating with Cleveland clinic, USA and University College London, UK to create a platform for creating awareness, teaching, training and accreditation in the management of colorectal diseases. The aim of this collaborative is to standardize care pathways, train and accredit surgeons involved in the care of patients with colorectal diseases. This collaborative will be delivering an annual colorectal event, focusing on different aspects of colorectal surgery/ disease with main focus on emerging and new technologies for colorectal surgery.
The collaboration will deliver its 2nd international sumposia on the multidisciplinary management of colorectal diseases focusing on colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor disorders and proctology. This will be a 2 day event featuring the Ivy league of surgeons and physicians (Prof. Steve Wexner USA, Prof Conor Delaney USA, Pro. Mariana Bertho USA, Dr. Emre Gorgun USA, Prof. Lacy Spain USA, Dr. Al Windsor UK, Dr. Alfred Cutner UK and Dr. Manish Chand UK) involved in the multidisciplinary management of colorectal diseases from around the world as well as national faculty.
A pre-symposium laparoscopic colorectal surgery workshop will be held on the 23rd of March 2018. This symposium will be held in the ballroom, Hyatt Regency, anna Salai, Chennai. There will be networking dinner for the delegates and the faculty on the evening of Saturday, the 24th of March 2018.
