VASCULAR EMERGENCY IN A POST RENAL TRANSPLANT PATIENT

    About this Case

33 year old female, known case of chronic kidney disease due to IgA Nephropathy underwent renal transplant in 2012, on immunosuppression. She now came in with complaints of severe upper abdominal pain radiating to back. The pain was not associated with fever, vomiting, urinary symptoms or altered bowel habits. In the Emergency Department she was haemodynamically stable except for persistent hypertension. Her abdomen examination revealed epigastric region tenderness and no signs of guarding or rigidity.

Despite adequate doses of analgesics the severity of pain persisted with a pain score of 8/10. This along with normal laboratory test values raised a strong suspicion for a vascular event
