Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT)

Introduction

Stereotactic body radiotherapy is a special technique of radiotherapy. It is used to deliver highly focused radiation to treat tumors of relatively smaller volumes, other than those in the brain.

Procedures

It is an outpatient procedure which does not require any form of anesthesia or sedation. A preparatory CT scan will be done after positioning the patient on a vacuum bed. Based on the CT scans a highly focused radiation plan will be generated using computer.
