Procedures

The robotic surgery is done under general anesthesia after the patients are thoroughly evaluated and prepared. The surgeon places the robotic instruments and the camera in the operative field through tiny incisions in the body of the patient. These instruments are in turn connected to the da VinciĀ® Surgical Robot system.

Surgeon then is seated in the console where he can view the operative field in high definition three-dimensional image. Using the foot and hand control, surgeon can maneuver the robotic arm in real time and in high precision. The robotic instruments can reach the places where it is hard to reach by human hand or laparoscopic instruments and perform the surgical procedures with greater precision. The excised surgical specimen is then retrieved through a natural orifice like anus, mouth or via tiny incision.
