Proton therapy is effective in treating many types of tumours, including tumours of the
- CNS tumours
- Head and neck tumours
- Paediatric tumours
It is also used for treating cancers of the Lung, breast, prostate and gastrointestinal system. Proton therapy is often the preferred option for treating solid tumours in children because it is more precise thereby reducing radiation of normal tissues.
