CyberKnife system is a non-invasive robotic radio-surgery modality
used for treating tumours
anywhere in the body. -
Continual image guidance technology and robotic mobility tracking
detects and corrects the
tumour position and patient movement during treatment. -
The linear accelerator designed for conventional radiotherapy are
modified by incorporating
improved guiding (stereotactic devices) and methods to improve the
accuracy of treatment. -
The CyberKnife combines a miniaturized LINAC mounted on an
industrial robot (with 6 degrees of
freedom) with a system for X-ray tracking system. -
The CyberKnife uses multiple fixed beams that target the tumour with 360
degree movement
around the 6-D couch
