Features

  • CyberKnife system is a non-invasive robotic radio-surgery modality
    used for treating tumours
    anywhere in the body.
  • Continual image guidance technology and robotic mobility tracking
    detects and corrects the
tumour position and patient movement during treatment.
  • The linear accelerator designed for conventional radiotherapy are
    modified by incorporating
improved guiding (stereotactic devices) and methods to improve the
    accuracy of treatment.
  • The CyberKnife combines a miniaturized LINAC mounted on an
industrial robot (with 6 degrees of
freedom) with a system for X-ray tracking system.
  • The CyberKnife uses multiple fixed beams that target the tumour with 360
    degree movement
    around the 6-D couch
