During the course of Bone & Marrow Transplant procedure:

Diseased, non-functioning bone marrow is replaced by healthy functioning
bone marrow for ailments such as Leukaemia, Aplastic Anemia, and Sickle
Cell Anaemia. -
Post the replacement of the Bone marrow, high doses of chemotherapy and/or
radiation, are given to treat a malignancy. This further improves the overall
clinical outcomes of the therapy.
