Introduction

Ultrasound, also known as sonography or ultrasonography, is an imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within the body. Doppler Ultrasound Scans (Colour, Power and Spectral Doppler) are used to look for vascular abnormalities, to pre surgically map out and localize vascular pedicle, and in reconstruction plastic surgery after tumour removal. Ultrasound Scan guided procedures like biopsies, wire localization, Ascitic or pleural fluid aspiration, marking of lymph nodes before surgery, etc.
