With the increasing global burden of cancer, advanced cancer care is becoming more and more crucial. Cancer care today means 360-degree comprehensive care, which requires commitment, expertise and an indomitable spirit from the cancer specialists.

It also demands constant innovation and a fresh way of thinking. At Apollo Cancer Centres, we aim to bring together the best minds in Oncology to discuss and deliberate the emerging trends in cancer management and their impact on clinical practice. The comprehensive treatment planning system involves a Tumor Board which consists of a panel of competent medical, surgical and radiation oncologists all working together to win over cancer.

TECHNOLOGY DIFFERENTIATORS

COMPREHENSIVE MEDICAL CARE, BACKED BY THE LATEST TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS.

Thorough cure and care at Apollo Cancer Centres is supported by technology and innovative techniques in High Precision Radiation therapy. High tech radiation therapy is used to treat not only small tumours located in critical areas but is useful in large tumours as well. Experts at Apollo Cancer Centres, from a range of disciplines, come together to assess a patient's suitability for the therapy, which is delivered using a number of precisely-targeted stereotactic beams.

1.VMAT

It is a radiation technique that delivers highly conformal dose distributions through the complete rotation (360°) and speed variation of the linear accelerator gantry. Compared with conventional radiotherapy techniques, it can achieve high-target volume coverage and sparing damage to normal tissues.

2.Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)

IMRT is a specialised form of 3D-CRT treatment in which not only the shapes of the radiation beams are varied, but their strengths or intensities as well. This further guarantees that the tumour receives the maximum amount of radiation, while the surrounding normal tissues receive the least possible.

3. Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)

This is a cutting-edge technique that combines X-ray imaging and radiation therapy, and allows the daily tracking of changes in both the location and shape of the tumour and healthy surrounding tissues during the course of treatment.

4. High Dose Rate Brachytherapy (HDR)

Brachytherapy involves the use of radioactive sources that are either implanted into the tumour (interstitial brachytherapy) or placed near it, generally in a body cavity (intracavitary brachytherapy). Uterine and cervical cancers are often treated with intracavitary brachytherapy, and prostate cancers can be treated using interstitial brachytherapy.

5. Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)

This is a procedure utilising very accurate targeted radiation in large doses to effectively kill a tumour or destroy a lesion. Stereotactic radiosurgery uses precisely focused radiation beams to treat tumours and other abnormal growths in the brain, spinal column and other body sites. Apollo Cancer Centres have world class technology that achieves submillimetric radiotherapy positioning and real-time monitoring through thermal surface tracking and real-time X-ray tracking. Highly beneficial for cranial and extracranial work.

6. Proton Therapy

Apollo Cancer Centres have established the first Proton Beam Therapy Centre for cancer treatment to serve over 3.5 billion people. Proton therapy is a cancer treatment that targets tumours with high accuracy, allowing for favourable outcomes with a low risk of side effects. As a result, normal. healthy tissue receives less exposure to radiation treatment, reducing the risk of complications. Fewer treatment complications may enable our physicians to deliver higher doses of radiation to the tumour. And this increased dose of proton radiation may improve a patient's chance for a successful outcome.

PIONEERING MINDS WITH A SINGLE FOCUS - YOU

Apollo Cancer Centres stand for a legacy of cancer care that is as comprehensive as it is exemplary. Our ceaseless battle against cancer has helped us hone our skills and strengths, and this is evident in every aspect of our approach to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Cross Consultation

It is a radiation technique that delivers highly conformal dose distributions through the complete rotation (360°) and speed variation of the linear accelerator gantry. Compared with conventional radiotherapy techniques, can achieve high-target volume coverage and sparing damage to normal tissues. To measure the quality of care, consultations in diverse geographical areas are a general practice at the Apollo Group. This takes a much more profound view of the patient's needs. right from disease diagnosis with the basic template of history, examination and investigation, to the analysis of the consultation. Consultation analyses by a number of notable pioneers, has helped specialists recognize and improve treatment methods. The growing list of complex objectives, which stretch beyond those driven by doctors' objectives and patients' expectations, is achieved through this practice which is targeted to achieve and demonstrate efficiency and efficacy in cancer treatment.

A good consultation achieves a number of objectives, including an enhanced doctor-patient relationship. The skills to improve consultation outcomes can be learnt and developed through consultation analysis which can simultaneously recognize and improve the important relationship between doctors and patients. This demonstrates the benefits most likely to accrue in the process of treatment and evaluation rather than an independent. abstract, academic or theoretical analysis.

Tumour Board

Our enviable track record of matching global outcomes is a result of calculated efforts in setting up clinical excellence protocols and a framework of sharing, learning and best practices. The Apollo Tumour Board is an example of collaborative excellence at its most effective - a group of eminent radiation, medical and surgical oncologists, diagnosticians and other specialists come together and form the Tumor Board. Collectively they concur on an accurate diagnosis and evolve the best unbiased scientific option for every patient, even for the most baffling cases. The Board convenes every month and ensures every patient gets only the very best personal treatment plan from the Board. Individual bias is ruled out by this team effort. The treatment planning approach at Apollo Cancer Centre brings together a number of doctors who review and discuss the medical condition and treatment options of a patient and offer the most optimal treatment.

Group Tumour Board

Apollo Cancer Care has a wealth of collective expertise that spans decades. The team is led by some of the finest, most skilled and highly experienced doctors who have a cumulative exposure that runs into thousands of man hours. This translates into a depth of knowledge and learning that truly boggles the mind. The Group Turnour Board has set a clear plan to leverage this immense learning and optimize its offering. The Apollo Group Tumour Board has so far handled close to 1,000 cases and provides an unparalleled window of education to younger doctors and the rest of the oncology tear on the very best of cutting-edge cancer care.
