The pancreas is located in the abdomen behind the lower part of the stomach. The pancreas secretes enzymes that aid digestion and hormones that help regulate the metabolism of sugars.
- There are two major types of Pancreatic cancer.
- Adenocarcinoma – Arises from the exocrine cell and is the most common type
- Neuroendocrine tumour (NET)- Arises from the endocrine cells of the pancreas. Some NETs are Insulinoma, Glucagonoma, Gastrinoma etc.
