- Bone marrow aspiration and bone marrow biopsy – The doctor uses a needle to take a sample of marrow and blood from the hip bone. The sample gets evaluated under a microscope for signs of leukaemia. The sample collected is sent for further evaluation to the laboratory.
- Lumbar Puncture (Spinal tap) – The doctor uses a needle to take cerebrospinal fluid around the spinal cord to look for leukaemia cells. The sample collected is sent for further evaluation to the laboratory.
