Overview

CML is also known as chronic myelogenous leukemia. It is a type of cancer that starts in the blood-forming cells of the bone marrow and invades the blood. About 15% of leukemias in adults are CML CML occurs mostly in adults

Signs and Symptoms

The symptoms of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) are often vague and are more often caused by other things. They include:

  • If signs and symptoms suggest you may have leukemia, the doctor will need to check your blood and bone marrow to be certain of this diagnosis. Blood is usually taken from a vein in your arm.
