Biography
Dr K Appaji Krishnan is a Senior Consultant, Spine Surgery at Apollo Cancer Centre, Chennai. He has an experience of over 2 decades operating complex spinal- paediatric and adult deformities, adult degenerative diseases.
He has various achievements accolated to him. He has been a faculty member, giving guest lectures in over 50 conferences- national and international since 2006. He is also a member of various medical organisations such as the Indian Orthopaedic Association, Associations of Spine Surgeons of India, AO Spine and the Indian Medical Association. He is presently the Joint Secretary and Treasurer for the Association of Spine Surgeons of India.
Presented various international and national papers in prestigious conferences all over the world and throughout India.
Area of Expertise
- Adult degenerative disorders and scoliosis
- Paediatric deformity- ranging from congenital complex deformity to adolescent idiopathic scoliosis deformity correction. He is one among the few experts in the whole country for anterior scoliosis deformity correction.
- Traumatic injuries- including reducing cervical facetal dislocations and complex fractures
- Skilfully dealing with spinal infections and tumours with multi-disciplinary approach
