ADVANCED EMERGENCY CARE IN BHUBANESWAR

Overview

Apollo Hospitals, Bhubaneshwar strives to provide the best possible emergency care in Odisha, committing to address every crisis and save as many lives as possible in every emergency that arises. We also provide a conducive training environment for the newer generation of clinicians, paramedics and nurses so they can become leaders in emergency medicine tomorrow.

Our Emergency Room(ER) is equipped with-

• Hi Tech ICU Ambulance- Hospital on wheels- to ensure that medical help and assistance reaches you as soon as possible in moments of crisis.
• EMS (Ambulance) Control Center- Controlled by hi-tech GPS enabled video monitoring systems,  it is manned by the EMS coordinator who is a qualified emergency medicine physician. He/she ensures that the workings of the department are smooth which is crucial since it is a community’s main access to medical aid and hence, is most visible to the public eye.
• Triage Zone- This is used to sort incoming patients on priority basis, depending on the severity of their condition, prognosis and the medical resources the hospital has at hand. It helps send patients to the designated area of care to ensure they receive the aid they need as swiftly as possible.

• Resuscitation Area- This area is mainly for Priority 1 patients who are in cardiac arrest or have breathing, airway and circulation compromise. We are prepared with four resuscitation beds that have access to all resuscitative equipment (monitors, defibrillators, airway, intubation & surgical tools) at an arm’s length including pediatric resuscitation kits.

• Major Trauma / Medical Areas- These deal with Priority 2 patients who are dealt with by dedicated physicians and nursing staff.
• Consultation Rooms- This area is earmarked for OPD patients who want to consult the available doctors for their problems which are mostly non-emergent.
• Teaching zone with class rooms ??
• Patient Waiting Area- We have designated waiting areas for patients and their families as they await treatments or consultations.
• Minor Procedure Rooms for washing, suturing, dressing wounds and reducing fractures and dislocations and performing other minor procedures.
• Observation Units
• 24 hour Pharmacy so medications can be conveniently arranged.
• 24 Hours Laboratory & Radiology services(including CT/ MRI)
• Doctors Restroom

Furthermore, we have an efficient network in place to deal with major scares like heart attacks, strokes and road accidents where the paramedics and ambulance staff keep the hospital updated with the recent developments of the patience so that the advanced tests can be performed the minute the patient is received and the treatment can be provided at the earliest for we promise to try to the last possible extent to save lives as we endeavor to reduce mortality and morbidity.
