Electrophysiology

At times the heart`s electrical system does not function well. This may result in abnormal heart rhythms called Arrhythmias. During an Arrhythmia, the heart may beat too slowly, too quickly or erratically. During an electrophysiology examination, electrodes are guided through blood vessels to the heart and used to check the function of the heart`s electrical system. This can identify whether the patient currently has or may develop heart rhythm problems. Some of these irregular heart rhythms can be treated with a special process called an Ablation.
