Overview

Dr. Vishwanath Sathyanarayanan is a distinguished medical oncologist, Senior Consultant and Academic Advisor at Apollo Cancer Centers in Bangalore, India. He completed his medical training and internal medicine residency at Kasturba Medical College and pursued further specialisation with a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Kidwai Institute of Oncology, followed by a clinical fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr Vishwanath has an outstanding academic record with gold medals in MD Internal Medicine and DM medical oncology. He was conferred a Professorship by Apollo Hospitals Education and Research Foundation in 2018. Renowned for his academic excellence, Dr. Vishwanath has received numerous accolades, including an ASH Abstract Achievement Award, AHERF Promising Clinician Award and a recent appointment to the ASCO Cancer Communications Committee. With over 45 international publications, he is also a committed educator and co-founder of the non profit organization Creative Portal for Oncology Education and More (CPOEM) Foundation, which promotes cancer awareness and education.

Work Experience

• He currently works as a Senior Consultant, Professor and Diplomates in the National Board (DNB) Thesis Guide, Department of Medical Oncology at Apollo Cancer Center.
• Till August 2016, he was a Clinical Fellow at the Division of Cancer Medicine Medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
• He worked as the DM Program at Kidwai Institute of Oncology till July 2015.
• Dr Vishwanath then served as a Consultant Physician at Sagar Hospitals in Bangalore till June 2012.
• He worked as an MD Resident in Internal Medicine and Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University, till 2011.

Education

Dr Vishwanath completed his MBBS in 2004 from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University. He then went on to finish his MD in Internal Medicine in 2008 from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University. He received his DM in Medical Oncology in 2015 from the Kidwai Institute of Oncology.
